This is the general scientific support and advisory body to the Board of Trustees, composed of internationally recognised scientists with relevant experience in the field of health sciences where they have demonstrated a professional or scientific career track-record which closely matches the objectives of CIBERSAM. The Council will be composed of a Chairman and at least four members, selected by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees. The Scientific Council will meet, as a minimum, once a year.
Functions of the Scientific Council External Assessor:
1. The Scientific Council External Assessor will inform and advise the Board of Trustees on the characteristics of scientific and technical research at both national and international level, with the possible repercussions on the functioning of the CIBERSAM.
2. In addition, the Scientific Council has the following functions:
Offer advice in relation with the scientific policy guidelines and institutional relations the CIBER should follow
Examine and inform on the Strategic Plan proposals, the Annual Scientific Report proposals and those from Annual Action Plans
Give information on the usefulness of programmes, resources and capabilities for the aims of the Consortium
Assess the transfer strategy for research results
Assess the recruitment policy for scientific personnel
Inform on the creation of research programmes
