Therapeutic Innovation

Innovacion The Therapeutic Innovation programme is a transversal programme that has emerged from the need to channel CIBERSAM’s efforts into identifying new targets and therapeutic strategies. For this reason, the programme integrates basic and clinical research groups with the aim of facilitating the information transmission process from basic to clinical research (translational) and improving existing treatments as well as from clinical to basic (back-traslational), with the objective of improving experimental models of mental illness. The programme comprises basic research groups and clinical groups.

CIBERSAM Research in Therapeutic Innovation

Mainly the objectives of the Therapeutic Innovation programme are:

- Integrate, in a more efficient and multidisciplinary manner, basic and clinical research through collaborative projects in genetics, neuroimaging, mental illness animal models, action mechanisms of psychoactive drugs and in particular the identification of new and innovative therapeutic targets.

- Study the neurobiological bases of resistance to treatment and the action mechanism of new therapeutic strategies.

- Promote collaborative and translational research which, due to innovation, can lead to a decrease in healthcare, social and personal costs derived from mental illness.
