The thematic area of Mental Health (CIBERSAM) is made up of 23 clinical, preclinical and translational research groups from eight of Spain’s autonomous communities. These groups, competitively selected from the ones with greatest scientific productivity in the country, are mainly engaged in the study of mental disorders such as depression, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, as well as anxiety disorders and mental disorders of children and adolescents or therapeutic innovation. Its mission sets out to provide to contribute answers and solutions providing greater knowledge of the etiophysiopathology of mental disorders, improving the promotion of mental health, prevention and current treatments and thus improving people’s quality of life.
